Welcome back!! I finally completed my third piece of the series!

This piece definitely took a while but I feel okay about the outcome. The linework was very difficult to figure out how I wanted to do it so that also took a while. The process of doing it digitally was honestly a lot easier than painting, but for my last piece, I am thinking of painting it. An issue I did run into was creating the outline and figuring out the path of the linework. I did enjoy creating this piece though, and my next and final piece is on the topic of karmic relationships.
FINAL PIECE: KARMIC
Karmic relationships are not supposed to work no matter how hard you try. They are created to teach us lessons. The worst thing you could do is hold on, causing you to elongate your healing process which prevents you from moving forward. “Karmic relationships burn hot and seem almost intoxicating at times, but the entire point of these relationships is to come into our lives, change us, and then leave.”
INITIAL SKETCHES:

(decided to go with the one in the top right)
The idea I have for this project is to create people that are basically merged together and trying to tear apart from each other. I want to depict the relationship between these two as toxic and how they want to hold on but it’s basically destroying who they really are.
So some imagery I want to include is smoke, red and orange tones, and some intricate linework. ( rethinking my idea I decided to only black and white since I am working with scratchboard. Although I am thinking of maybe going back in when I’m done with paint to add a pop of color.)
However, I want also to incorporate the fact that these types of relationships usually start like most relationships, intimate and loving, but they end up hurting the couple in the end. So, I want to have the two figures kissing to represent the intimate portion of my concept while they're essentially "burning" because of the toxicity.
ARTIST INSPO
I want to implement similar line work as I did for my last one for this project as well. Hopefully to keep some kind of consistency throughout my series.
An artist that inspired me throughout the idea mapping of this piece was “iannocent.”
I really enjoy how they use intricate linework to create depth and movement throughout their pieces. As an artist, I think it is important to experiment with new media and techniques that I may not be completely comfortable with. I want to use scratchboard for my final piece. Hopefully, I can create a successful final piece composition-wise, while also being able to convey my concept.

I had a difficult time finding more information about this artist, but I found a lot of their work inspiring. The linework they use is very intricate and I wanted to recreate that feeling with my scratchboard drawing. here is a link to their site: https://www.behance.net/gallery/37405945/coretan

Congrats on finishing your last piece it looks great. I like that you left the idea of karmic relationships for your last piece. I think that the idea fits the tone of your pieces but also contrasts from it. As if this is the intended way to finish your series. I think that the idea of this piece really lets you take advantage of colors and and expression. Good luck.
As always Isa, your line-work is stunning! I love the intricacies of your style and how much they flow. I'm very interested in this idea of Karmic relationships, I've never heard of such a thing until now, it's almost like needed suffering; the idea that some suffering is necessary in life to mature us so we can face similar issues with the proper knowledge on how to deal with them.
I love love the line work in your piece, everything just flows together so beautifully and harmonic. I also really like the color scheme you have picked out for this piece, I think they all fit very well and showcase a sense of your theme well. I am excited to see your final piece with it being painted, I think it will turn out super cool and I cant wait :)
